Architex Project Honored

Sponsored by the Town of Colonie and the Colonie Chamber of Commerce’s G-R-E-A-T Committee, the Town of Colonie Community Beautification Achievement Awards were recently created to promote the quality of life in the town by recognizing contributions to the community’s physical environment.

The Bowen and Parker Brothers Funeral Home was honored on January 25 with the “Curb Appeal” award at the 2013 annual Colonie Chamber dinner. Architex designed this most recent update and transformation to the historical building. Construction work included a traditional front entry portico addition with bluestone stairs and standing seam metal roof, replacement of the front entry doors, windows, siding and trim. Sitework included a new ‘drop-off’ section of driveway with concrete pavers and radiant tube heating system. Surrounding the new entry area are planters of dry laid stone and brick piers with lighting fixtures.
